CHAPTER PRESIDENT

Hi, I’m Kate Harper! If you would have told me 3 years ago that I, a girl from St. Louis, Missouri, who was extremely nervous to go through formal recruitment, would end up being president of Kappa Alpha Theta, I would have been shocked. But here I am, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to lead the incredible women of this chapter. I am forever grateful for their support, encouragement, and authenticity, which have inspired me to develop into a better leader and version of myself.

I am majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish for health professionals in hopes of becoming a physician assistant. In my free time, I enjoy trying out coffee shops, cooking delicious recipes, and going on walks (if it’s not 110 degrees out!), but I love these activities most when I’m with my friends. My friendships are one of the most important parts of my college experience, providing a support system that celebrates the wins and offers comfort during the difficult times. Being in Kappa Alpha Theta has allowed me to build friendships with so many amazing women, leading to memories I will cherish forever. From laughing until my stomach hurts, to dancing the night away at formals, to late nights in the library before an exam, my friends in Theta have been by my side. It has been such a blessing to have found a community of women who are authentically themselves yet are united by common values of caring for others and striving to do our best. I am inspired every day by the strong, kind-hearted, and intelligent women who surround me.

If you’re a potential new member reading this, I encourage you to enter recruitment seeking a community with values that align with your own. Ask yourself if you would be friends with the women that surround you at each chapter– would they make you smile, would they inspire you to become more confident in yourself, would they support you while you strive to achieve your goals? These are the women you want by your side throughout your time at TCU. Wherever your recruitment journey takes you, know that you have a friend in Kappa Alpha Theta.
